[:en]Scenario
You try to boot a computer into Windows Setup via Windows Deployment Services / PXE. It works with other stations, but not with the special one.
Solution
The client computer might use an old or non-fully-featured PXE client. In many notebook BIOS versions, this feature or options of it are hardly to find in general. Your special version might need 066 and 067 DHCP entries in your DHCP server, especially if both servers are not the same.
Check these entries:
- 066 start server: IP of your WDS server, e.g. 192.168.1.123
- 067 start file: Path of WDS boot image, e.g. \REMINST\Boot\x64\wdsnbp.com
Other internet blogs describe a similar behavior if your DNS is on the same machines and ports might overlap. In this case, change UDP port range e.g. from 50000 to 65000.[:]
